While I was out photo-journaling the smoke, I stopped by a park and found a number of ducks swimming around. I sat on the side of the pond and worked on my nature shots. The ducks didn't seem to mind, but after I had overstayed my welcome they started to get out of the pond and head in my direction. With no bread or other snack to provide, I jumped up and headed on home. The smoke was starting to upset my lungs by then, anyway. Stay inside, folks. And stay safe.
My office is severely lacking in drink option. You could say it's nice of them to offer any drinks in the first place, but then I'd respond by asking if there are any drink options worth having if diet coke is not present? My friends, family, and an assortment of waitresses could pay witness to the fact that when I go out to eat, my first question is "do you offer Pepsi or coke products here?" If Pepsi reigns triumph, I let out a sigh (made of equal parts disappointment and anger), and ask for water. If coke is the available product (as always should be), I ask for a diet, treating it as a trophy I have won by simply choosing an establishment with a fine taste for fizzy beverages.
Anyway, the fridge here is full of coke. Sugar loaded cokes. Where's the diet?!
No where. Not offered. So, yesterday I gave reg coke a try. Never again.
After the coke, my day pretty much ran through it's normal routine. Intern outing to the park, where we found a lovely beach and then took a windy path that took us far, far away from the car. My roommate was a badass and climbed a tree over a ledge for the perfect picture. I took selfies while intern #3 talked to his mama on the phone. I found the perfect tree with the perfect lighting for a somewhat depressing picture. And we had a face off with a raccoon. I'm convinced this fella had more raccoon thugs just waiting to attack us from the bushes as back up, but we escaped the scene before the troops could act.
Great Wednesday. Missed my middle school ladies, though. Xoxo
This weekend was incredibly productive and I just must share it with you! I didn't leave my apartment much or really see people, but maybe that's why it was so great? eh? is that bad?
Anyway, I edited loads and loads of pictures! So many pictures have just been sitting on my desktop. Honestly, as much as I love taking pictures and going through them, it is one hell of a daunting task! I get so wrapped up in the images and honestly it's just draining! Anyway, I put on my big girl underwear and busted out some editing and completed a couple albums and cd's for clients. Yay!

and, of course i must share some pictures of my gorgeous family. The gene lottery has been good to these folks.

Let's see. after some editing, i continued to clean and pack up some of my apartment. Right now, the walls are so bare and it definitely looks like a college kids apartment. two more weeks of this limbo and back home I go for two more weeks! Then to TN... yikes!
I'll blog more soon! Just can't quite focus all my thoughts for the time being. too much to be done!

Alright. I'm putting all my cards on the table. I know it may look like I've got an unhealthy obsession with cats, but it's not true. Well, not all true. You see, in the last two days I have received 3 new lenses (Merry Christmas to me!!! And thanks to my gurl Leah. You da bomb) and all I want to do is take pictures of everything in my house. The lamp, the chairs, the plants... Once I get desperate enough to start taking pictures of the ceiling, I know I need a real subject to focus on. I hate to bother my friends or family with my hobby, so I take the next best model- Ranger! Now, Ranger is my brother's cat and absolutely LOVES to be in front of the camera. It's funny- he'll actually start to purr when I take his picture!! So, I figure, it must not be a bother to him! And a trip home isn't ever half bad either.
And... that is all on my crazy cat story. I'm not really a crazy cat lady. Not really.
